So How About the Weather....

Now it is in the forties (well, it was during the day) and the snow is melting a little. But I suspect it will freeze again in the night, and thus become more compact.

Wasn't there a huge pileup where a few people died?

Is there snow in anyone's backyard?

There is always a huge pileup where a few people die. Or wish they had died. Trust me.

There are patches of snow in my backyard, cursed thaw!

At least the Elephants at Roger Williams are likely to be having a nice day outside, not like last weekend, when news reporters were throwing water in the air so we could see it freeze before it hit the ground. However they are in Providence, which is I think USDA Hardiness Zone 7, which likely gives them a lot of days where they can go outside during the winter.

Have you ever thought of spending some time abroad in a place where it snows? Seems like you might like it.

Hmmm.. UK for a few years where 1mm of snow means airports are closed. I have experienced also snow in New York, Oslo, Vienna, Beijing, Shanghai, Merida (Venezuela), Aussie Alps, and perhaps a couple other places that slip my mind. I suppose that that snow is a novelty to me, as today's 39C (102F) day in Melbourne is to folks from colder climes: it's ok for a few days, then it becomes annoying.

Last night we had lightening and some of the worst wind I have ever seen, also we have snowdrops (darn). I hope that the Elephants in Providence are having a nice day outside, as are the girls at Commerford's in Goshen and at Buttonwood Park, because it is supposed to get cold again tomorrow.

I have never seen it before, but it is true, it is snowing in the Swiss lowlands today at the end of April.... It is just wrong to see green trees with snow on top....

Very rarely, we get snow here in south Texas. Seeing palm trees with snow is pretty weird.

That's why I went to Florida for the last 3 weeks... (I knew it!);)
