Melbourne Zoo so much for binturongs in the otter exhibit...

zooboy,

if it helps.....the new binturong exhibit looks exactly like the old otter exhibit....

...honesty, I can't work it out....this exhibit is almost in the middle of the zoo....the zoo is surrounded by a fence with barbed wire on top.....the binturong/otter enclosure I'm pretty sure had electric wiring....

ive got more important things to think about than what you think pat.

i said 2 things, 1 about melbourne, 1 about sydney

and thanks zookiah, i was just wondering what changes were made, im guessing climbing structures etc.

maybe something fell down over night the zoo wasnt telling anyone about, or the e fence in the exhibit failed, as for the permineter, sounds silly, but maybe just a lack of maibtance, ie) trees from zoo, over the boundary, so bintorung could climb exhibit to exhibit.

Taronga's binties

They have been kept in both Zoo_Boy, at one stage they had a bintiroung in the jungle cats and in the dhole exhibit. It just wasnt as obvious when they were in the dhole because they put shade cloth stuff up in parts and the ninties spent most of the time in the backconer.

seriously. comeon' you should care what i think, because you spend an aweful lot of time on this forum and i suspect i'm not the only person who finds many of your posts very difficult to understand.

and the thing is, it not just your spelling, its your grammar also and i'm sure your very capable of writing properly when you can be arsed. i actually think it has a lot more to do with laziness on your part, becuse if you proofread your own posts you'd see that often they make absolutely zero sense. its also obvious its laziness becuse you often respond to a post with a question that is indeed answered in the very post you just read.

so listen dude don't get all huffy with me. so long as you continue to be sloppy i will pick you up on it... and that what it is. SLOPPY!

and ps - in future, if two statements are made and you make a comment in regards to one of them, the onus is ON YOU to make it clear to which one it is you are reffering to. don't expect glyn to now what on earth you mean.

now chill out and WRITE PROPERLY!

jsut skip my posts pat, most the time you dismis there content anywy.

who made u a fing moderator anyway, i know its bad, but leave me alone, cause i dont have bloody time often to go over posts, i am rushing around doing other **** all day.

now stop taking this post of topic.

wow! Zoo_Boy, i thought youd know what tarongas binturong exhibit looked like?
when melbourne first opened its asian precinct some time ago binturong were mixed with otters, but kept escaping. so one would hope that some modifications were made to the exhibit.

ive seen 2 differnt exhibit exhibits for binties at taronga. i saw on tv, the 2 old ones where in an open exhibit, like current, more like the old red panda exhibits, as well as in jungle cats.

"binties" ... us australians must modify everything and add an "ee" at the end.

theres nothing suprising about the binturong getting over the perimiter wall of the zoo. the walls have plenty of large trees growing along their side but suffice to say a prehensile tailed animal that has evolved over millions of year to live an arboreal lifestyle is a good climber... its really not that odd.

i've just finshed a massive job and was about to go home for the arvo as reward. maybe i'll detour by the zoo....
