So who does have the uk's largest lemur walk-through?

There are many parks in the uk that boast large lemur walkthrough exhibits, manor house claims to have europe's largest walkthrough lemur enclosure. Which do you think is largest and best?
 
I can't say which is best as I haven't visited them all, but I think Manor houses is the biggest at 7 acres. But then Paignton's is massive, so I don't really know. I would say it's Manor houses' though.
 
I havn't visited these two zoos but when i visited Cricket st thomas a few years ago i was very blown away, how big does this enclosure compare to manor house and paignton?

seen paigton and marwell, i say marwell because people always rock paigtons bridge and there seems the be a lack of climing structures in paigtons one

Manor house's lemur walkthrough is no where near 7 acres in size, have you seen it? It was actually much smaller than i expected. I would put my money on cricket

No,but the website says 7 acres, as did the TV program. Cricket's is 4 acres.
 
I haven't seen them all and I don't know about the largest - but the best I have visited is 'Madagascar' at Burford (Cotswold Wildlife Park) because it has the most interesting collection of lemurs, plus other Malagasy species too.

Apparentley Yorkshire Wildlife Park now has the biggest lemur walk-through.
 
Yeah that's been mentioned, I think that's why the thread got started as there was debate on the YWP thread.
 
Personally I think size is irrelevant. It's not about the biggest enclosure for any species, it's about what the enclosure has to offer. Maybe the title of this thread should be changed from largest to best. So in light of that I would say from the ones I have seen Paignton is the best for the animals and public. The lemurs may be difficult to see but that is part of the fun of a walkthrough (or any for that matter) exhibit.

Where does it say that on their website?? I went to Manor House a few weeks ago and the lemur walkthrough is around an acre in size maybe 2 at a push. Has anyone else been that can verify this?
 
ive also seen howletts, wich is better than marwell, maby the smallest, but its great

Paignton's lemurs have an acre of forest! If anything, Marwell's don't have enough climbing structures (incidentally, Marwell's enclosures are not a walk-through).


It says that Cricket have 4 acres on the leaflets although I have not seen it myself.
 
I HATED that part of South lakes with a passion. The amount of people stroking them and trying to feed them was unbelievable, and they looked in pretty bad condition too, like they all had bald patches and seemed really skinny. Also, someone (I think it might have been the owner) bought out a huge anaconda, put it on the floor and failed to watch it whilst a lemur jumped into the tree above it and got pretty close to the snake, it went into an S bend and all. He also revelled in telling us it could swallow a small child whilst failing to tell the small children stroking it's head to stop!
Something about that park I didn't like, I just don't know what.
 
from what i remember howletts lemur walk through bit is pretty good. i got a really close up photo of a sleeping lemur without using the zoom. however i cant upload it as my harddrive had to be replaced and i didnt get everything off the old one :(
