Beijing Zoo Some update information of Beijing Zoo

I saw these birds last month at the Beijing Zoo, it was one of my goals there. Unfortunately, they were other birds with the sign "Narcondam hornbill" - Rhyticeros plicatus .

I love cats and all the animals living in the zoo, but I hate the so-called "cat-lovers" very much. There are so many parks in Beijing, and there is a pretty and huge park, which is famous for its Chinese garden exhibit and bamboo species collection, just next to the zoo! But the cat-lovers never throw their cats into the bamboo park, bacause there are no free food for the cats in that park! But in the zoo, the cats can feed the food that are offered to the captive animals, and moreover, they also prey on the birds! There are several waterfowls kept in the zoo killed by the cats, and several leopards (the zoo didn't mention whether subspecies the leopards were, i.e. Amur or South Chinese) died of felid infectious disease. Now all the free-ranging birds in the zoo, including the critically-endangered Baer's pochards, are under the threat of cats. When the zoo tried to prevent the cat-lovers to throw more cats into the zoo, those cat-lovers vituperated the zoo via every communication pathway. I always think, if you really love an animal, you should take it home, rather than throwing it into the zoo and forcing the zoo feed it instead of you, and neglecting the cat preying on other species!

The only legal captive Narcondam hornbills I'm aware off was one or 2 birds kept by the Bombay Natural History Museum ( they have published some material on this species ) but lost their bird(s) also by an escape !
 
Two 18 years' female African elephants arrive at Beijing Zoo from Nanning Zoo recently for a breeding program.

@Baboon, is this the Tien Shan Safari Park or the Baoertu Safari?
