A new neighbor who purchased nearby property (knowing full well the Conservation Center was already there), sued the center for noise nuisance and zoning violation. After a lengthy battle, the center won by receiving a special use permit.

On January 2nd, the sanctuary announced they acquired a (1.0) common raccoon named Anomaly which had one of its rear legs amputated due to a severe leg injury.

On January 21st, the sanctuary announced they acquired (1.1) Mexican grey wolves named Cruz and Terra from the Living Deserts Zoo & Gardens in California.

On February 18th, the sanctuary announced they acquired a (1.0) Mexican grey wolf named Angus from the Sedgwick County Zoo in Kansas.

The center is temporarily caring for a tiger cub that Phoenix Police confiscated from a resident who was listing it illegally for sale online. It will eventually be moved to "an out-of-state sanctuary with other tigers", though which sanctuary is not named in the article.

On May 17th, it was reported that the tiger will be transferred to the Wildcat Sanctuary in Minnesota.
