I'm wondering where their huge primate collection went/will go. They have/had a lot of species that I've never seen anywhere else.

If I had to guess, to private collections, though I do not know for sure.

Many of the animals previously considered missing were illegally sent to other zoos:
DeYoung received 9 ring-tailed lemurs (EN), 1 celebes macaque (CR), 2 red ruffed lemurs (CR), 3 japanese macaques, 2 lions, 2 tigers, 2 wolves, and 1 leopard.
East Texas Zoo/Franklin Drive-Thru Safari were sent 2 lynx, 2 rhesus macaques, and 2 javan/crab-eating macaques.
ALDF is trying to get an order of protection to have all of the animals moved to sanctuaries, as was originally intended. SMZdec1.pdf
