You are right about the leech

Regarding the crane, I actually tried to tell that they live in grasslands, but yes my description was not totally correct Those in Namibia live in Etosha Pan who is surrounded by desert
 
As for the Leech, it was a Sixth-form Biology field course; we were investigating the species present in Kenfig Pool, and the leech attached to a fellow student’s leg. I wrote it up and submitted a note to Nature in Wales, who accepted it, but ceased publishing before it appeared in print.
