Has the lone Red-vented Cockatoo been moved off display from Parrot Paradise?

this is a very good thread, and I'm sure much appreciated by anybody interested in birds and the Singapore facilities!!

There are 4 Peruvian Pelicans at the aviary, they look quite young.

My sources tell me the Red-vented is re-located to the breeding center, where a few species that are not displayed are kept (I will try to dig out which ones are kept off-exhibit)

That aviary isn't huge as I remember it (quite a bit smaller than the spoonbill one I think), so it must be pretty full with the list you provided. Any chance of some pictures of it in the gallery?

Thanks for the list btw, its a great read.

I think The avairy is roughly the same size as the spoonbills. I wouldn't called cramped, but is it certainly well filled up ;)..

I hope that means the park found a mate for the red-vented!

I do believe the spoonbill, ibis and shorebirds aviaries are all of the same size, although the different vewiing perspectives make them seem otherwise.

It's nice to see Juring's collection grow again, as it took quite a plunge in the last 8 years or so. This new team seems to know what they are doing, and with all the uncertainty regarding the future of the place, boosting up the collection would be a must, IMO.

Calyptorhynchus do you know if Jurong lost another Shoebill? Only one is on display now.

Thank you for the list, it is fascinating. I would really like to see all those hornbills!
