We always announce here, the latest births at our local collections, but i was wondering:confused:, at your local collection, which animals have year after year failed to reproduce.
I think we can all say there is a species at the zoo that you desperately want to see trot out with a family.
I'll start with Edinburgh.
Sclater's lemur
Aye-aye (the male has now died)
Drill (the group has recently been formed)
Asian golden cat (a recent pairing)
Margay
African hunting dog
Wolverine
Visayan warty pig
Bongo

The current pair of Double wattled cassowary
Black stork (currently just one male)
Marabou stork
Scarlet ibis
Steller's sea eagle (young pair)
Malayan argus pheasant
Illiger's macaw
Great grey owl

I believe the Toronto Zoo hasn't had any luck breeding their Echidna. There's also a number of species I believe they are looking to breed (Asiatic Dholes, for example) but suitable mates are needed first.

For the LA Zoo it would be elephants. The zoo has had elephants since the opening of the zoo, but no luck in breeding elephants. Hopefully this will change with the opening of Pachyderm Forest.

Blackduiker

I'm still hoping for breeding success with the Los Angeles Zoo's pair of Fossa. I've seen the male chasing the female throughout the exhibit, definitely wanting to mate, but no offspring as of yet.

Oh yeah, I forgot about them. Also, I wish that the Calamian Deer will breed at the LA Zoo.
