Species you could have seen, but didn't

Unfortunately, I had to add a few species to my'not seen' list after a zoo tour in the Czech Republic

- Northern Black-eared opossum, Didelphis marsupialis. In Plzen Zoo, I was allowed to go in the off-show area, and I did see their cage, but the opossums didn't show themselves. Similarly, neither did the Gray Short-tailed opossums that I already missed once before in Brno. Pretty frustrating missing out on both species!

Other no-shows from the trip that would have been new species
- Brown Kukri Snake (Oligodon fasciolatus) in Prague Zoo's terrarium
- South Pacific tree boa (Candoia bibroni) in Prague's Zoo's Indonesia House
- Gran Canaria giant lizard (Gallotia stehlini) in Plzen Zoo. Probably too cold for them.
- Southern Tenerife lizard (Gallotia galloti galloti). Probably too cold for them/

Fortunately I was also able to cross off a few species of the list because I did finally get to see them after failed attemps on past zoo visits.
- Hypocolius (missed them before in Plzen, seen this time)
- Barred Laughingthrush (missed them before in Prague Zoo's pheasantry, but they have since moved to the Sichuan house where I did see them this time)
- Borneo earless monitor (missed them before in Berlin TP and Prague Zoo, seen this time in Prague.)

Puerto Rican Boa, the only place I visited that had them on show was Colchester in 1994. Despite many visits to the vivarium, they did not show themselves.

Sumatran rhinoceros at both San Diego and Cincinnati. SD I missed by just a few weeks and Cincinnati I just didn't make the time to see before they were gone.

I missed the one at Port Lympne, mistakenly thinking it had already left and visited Howletts instead.

There was an aviary for Sumba hornbill at the Bird Park in Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, I didn't managed to find one during my last visit and I don't know if its still there after the park's revitalization.

There was only a single female when I was there in 2016, so it might have well passed since then. If she did, then the species is gone from the collection, and probably from captivy in the world since I'm not aware of any other collections keeping the species.
