Birdworld species

Is there a species list for the collection?

Birdworld has a pretty good bird collection, the exhibits are more in favour of the birds than the visitors as most of them are mesh and can be overcrowded with plants but it defintely benefits the birds as they have a good breeding record.

The only trouble I ever had was trying to see an African Black Crake, it moved so fast around the enclosure, I never got a clear view of it as it ran in and out of the undergrowth.

Antwerp is much better for seeing crake

Sorry I think I meant a different collection. Bourton on the water? Is that bird land?

We have loads of Humboldt Penguins. Birdworld's Humboldt's are so good at breeding they actually say that anywhere that has Humboldt's probably has one of their penguins. They then proved this by laying 2 eggs when I was there for work experience.

Marwell Zoo, London Zoo and Whipsnade have Humboldts (though Whipsnade does have Rockhoppers too)... but I don't know where there are King Penguins in the UK

Well, I'm off to Birdworld on Tuesday, I can't wait to see the Macaws, Cockatoo's and Penguins :) Does anyone know if they still have the Hyacinth Macaw (Blubid?) still?
