Speculative Zoo Species List Help

For the central outback, I only have common brush tail possum, tawny frogmouth, and short-beaked echidna so far. For the aquariums, here are the exhibits and what I'm looking for.
  1. City of Lights - I need some ideas for possible for compatible species for orange sea pen, bioluminescent coral, Japanese pineapple fish, and chain catshark (all in seperated tanks of course)
  2. Colorado River - Two communal tanks (chubs, dace, sucker, etc.) - Also Colorado river toad and western tiger salamander
  3. Great Rift Valley - A tank for each of the great lakes - Also giant African land snail and other semi-aquatic species
  4. Gulf of Mexico - Sea turtle communal tank and rocky outcrop tank (with bottom dwellers like spiny lobster) - Also dwarf lionfish and lined seahorse
  5. Indian Ocean - Nocturnal species, having a shark/ray tank, cardinalfish tank, etc. - Also having some octopus, lionfish, coconut crab, and Rodrigues fruit bat
  6. Komodo Islands - Some tanks (freshwater or saltwater ) to be near komodo dragons
  7. Lake Chad - Having some tank with west African lungfish and another tank with more aggressive species - having a seperated tank with African clawed frog
  8. Otter Plaza - A small Truckee River aquarium with at least Lahontan Cutthroat Troat
  9. Red Sea - Large coral reef tank
  10. Sea of Cortez - Shark tank, coral reef tank - seperated tanks (brown garden eel) which would hopefully be mostly mixed species
Oh okay well I have an idea for your central outback at night unless you have the animal in a different section and the idea was the sugar glider and for the lake Chad aquarium the only idea I can think of is the banded jewelfish and it’s the largest of jewel cichlids and is very aggressive and for the great rift valley I have 3 ideas but two wouldn’t fit in an aquarium and the two ideas are the Nile monitor and Nile crocodile and they are both found in us zoos and the Nile monitor is semi aquatic and the third idea is the East African black mud turtle and they are found in zoos in the us like the Maryland zoo in Baltimore, Erie zoo and Long Island aquarium.

Sugar gliders aren’t really found in the central Outback. Banded jewelfish are only found in one aquarium… in the world so it’s too unrealistic as it’s not even AZA accredited. I’m not having Nile crocodiles in the zoo (they’re not a phase out but there are other priority crocodilians), Nile monitors are in a different zone and I’m not positive the East African black mud turtle are found in the Great Lakes. Thanks for the help though

Any other ideas for the other exhibits (any of them from all pages)? Thanks for your somewhat help, I took these suggestions -> Binturong in Area 51, Four-Toed Hedgehog in Horn of Africa
I don’t have any other ideas and plus I want to let other people have a chance to suggest ideas.

might have a couple suggestions for Area 51:
- Mangrove Snake
- Vampire Crab
- Mudskipper
- Banded Archerfish
- Philippine sailfin lizard
- Fiddler Crab
- Boat Billed Heron
- Fisher Cat

if the exhibit wasn't limited to Southeast Asian Mangroves, I'd also suggest Four - Eyed Fish.

I do have banded archerfish, mudskipper, vampire crab, mangrove snake, and fiddler crab already. I'll add Philippine sailfin lizard. I'm not really interested in having fishing cat (assuming you meant that and not the mustelid). Boat-billed herons are from the Americas, not Asia. thanks for help

no problem, I'll try to help with more Exhibits in the future.

one more suggestion that just came to mind, Tentacled Snake.

Just saying but I have 4 ideas for city of lights and the 4 ideas are flashlight fish, giant siphonophore and two species of anglerfish and these 4 animals are found in captivity in the U.S. and I know the giant siphonophore is found at Monterey Bay aquarium and many aquariums have flashlight fish like Tennessee aquarium, Dallas world aquarium, Georgia aquarium, Aquarium of the pacific and sea life aquarium grapevine mills and the two anglerfish are the black sea devil and the dreamer anglerfish and they are both found at Monterey Bay aquarium.

I have eyelight and splitfin flashlight fish. This aquarium is meant to be realistic so I don’t have the anglerfish and siphonophore because they aren’t found in multiple collections

I’m in need of a headliner for my Caesar’s menagerie exhibit. I already have grey wolves in another exhibit. The only possible headliner I can think of is a golden eagle and they aren’t even that popular for an average zoo-goer. I’ve thought about having Wild boars and green monkeys but I just realized they’re phase out species. I’m going to have a Mediterranean Sea section so what headliners from there should I have and what headliners for outside should I have?

A selection of possible combinations:
Barbary partridge, Laughing dove, Little bustard, Common hoopoe, Spanish sparrow, Common rosefinch, Striated bunting, White-spectacled bulbul, Rosy starling, Black redstart
Namaqua dove, Black-bellied sandgrouse, Kittlitz's plover, Collared pratincole, European bee-eater, Red-fronted serin, Striated bunting, Eurasian sky lark, Barn swallow, Eurasian blackcap, Desert wheatear
Most of birds here are absent in NA facilities

Right now, for that section of the land of the pharaohs, my free-flight collection is sacred ibis, black winged stilt, Egyptian geese, marbled teal and cattle egret

I added to the list mainly birds kept in zoos or as pets in Europe because I am from Europe and am familiar with birds kept in Europe.
If desired, in the future I will mark species that are kept on a specific continent.
I try to make the lists accessible to everyone, not just people who live in a specific region, but to anyone involved in speculative zoo planning
(At that time the criterion for keeping the birds in NA was not stated)

There's no way this will work. The Egyptian goose will bully and kill the teal and black-winged stilt.
I left this bird off the list for a reason

I’ll create a separate aviary for it and I’ll add Egyptian plovers to the free-flight collection

What are some animals that are found in AZA collections and are found in the East billabongs of Australia? Also, what are some possible ambassador animals that are found in central Outback and east billabongs , still being found in the AZA?
