Chester Zoo - Jaguar Coffee House

The Arara lodge had been undergoing renovations and i'm guessing that this is the final result.

The article indicates that there is viewing from here into the 'grassland' paddock as well. Does anyone know if this is a glass window or a similar view to what you can see from the path?

(Also a mention of the new male tiger)
 
i couldnt see anything on sunday jus the lodge building empty and tape around it with sign saying building work on going.
 
I hope they open up another under cover picnic area to replace this as all that is left now is the end of Cafe Tsavo near the warthogs. If it rains during summer there are going to be a lot of unhappy picnicers!
 
judging from what i saw the other day they have alot of work on there hands if its to be finished by this saturday

Could you see inside the lodge though? The inside may well be finished and they zoo has left the construction fencing up until the opening day

yeah on sunday the lodge was completly empty and as far as i could see all of the walls were wooden apart from the main entrance but you wouldnt be able to see the jaguars from there

Just to update you that the cafe was open yesterday (05/04/09)and it was absolutely manic and packed with a long queue - as was the entire Zoo - Sunday and school hols! Even had to queue to get in the RORA!!! I don't think the outside was completely finished but it looks to be having tables with parasols over the top to sit and view the jaguars when they are out. I think the Lodge was still all wooden walls though but with it being so busy we didn't bother going inside but it did appear on the darkish side.

Actual it opened on the 4 April because i used it to get a drink in.
