The Zoo has gone out of Rhinoceros hornbill sending their pair to Woodland Park in Seatle.
Exhibits betwen feenc fox and hyrax are still being worked on. Animal care staff said they are being worked for prehensile tail porcupine and winter home for macaw in carribean coast.
I really like how the zoo seems to be focusing and revamping windows of the wild! It’s nothing major for this exhibit from what I understand but atleast it’s something!

* Worth mentioning that a female (0.1) Linne's two-toed sloth named Sylvie was born in March 2024, as well as named the prehensile-tailed porcupine born in early 2024, Silver, and the black-and-white colobus monkey born in June 2024, George. It's also worth mentioning that the zoo transferred (0.2) rock hyraxes to Utah's Hogle Zoo in Utah in November 2024, as well as raised and released 36 marbled salamanders back into the wild in May 2024.

Disappointing news: the coatis in Treasures of the Sierra Madre are gone, and they have been replaced by red pandas. Say goodbye to geographic accuracy!

I wonder if this will lead to them getting a permanent exhibit where black-neck crane was and part of markhor yard?

At least they will be there for Zoolights next month.

Wonder if Coati will be back? They had one animal prior to Gimli (Red Panda) moving north to Stone. The two exhibits combined make greater exhibit space as each exhibit is small by themselves.

From what I can understand from their recent social media post about the red panda moving is that it is a temporary thing until the red panda exhibit is completed. I think that may mean that the coatis will come back once the red panda if it moves back.
