Stupidest Exhibit Ideas Ever

Are you talking about the Animal Encounters Village here? I mean I wouldn't skip it either, I do like several of the species kept there and I hate missing even the smallest most insignificant animal exhibits on a zoo visit. But if you were talking about that why would you compare it to the best exhibit at Indianapolis? Especially when there are better exhibits at Columbus?
There are multiple exhibits with the name Desert Dome

When does it say that every exhibit must match up to the Desert Dome? All I was referring to was the name of the exhibit.
Why? The thread is about exhibits, not names. How is Jungle Jack's Landing any worse of a name than the 3 you mentioned?
A part of the exhibit is the name. Simple.
Whether or not you think a name is stupid is subjective, while there are some objective criteria one can use to evaluate an exhibit's quality.

I would go there to (I never skip exhibits when I go to zoos though) but just because it has rarer animal doesn’t excuse it for being terrible. I’m guessing the split the budget in half for this one so they spent around 20,000,000 dollars on something looking like the reptile house Cheyenne mountain zoo, and that’s not a compliment. they 20 million dollars on a terrible exhibit such as this, I’m having trouble even describing this thing. I appreciate it for the rare species but they don’t deserve these exhibits, even though they will only be there for half the time. My point is they could have done so much better with the budget the where on.
I was joking about the name...not the exhibit quality or anything like that. But I will admit it sounds like I was talking about the quality, probably should've worded it better
This "Mouse kitchen" and other similar exhibits like this housing mice or rats in mock-ups of a kitchen or other rooms of a house.
I personally really dislike these kinds of gross (and usually also rather smelly) displays for what most optimistically are prey/feed animals and at worst plain vermin.
Coudn't disagree more. It represent the native habitat, is enriching. And espically for children very intertaining. Aswell quite cheap to make.
And about smell. There are far more smelly animals. And even great exhibits, like Burgers Desert in Arnhem. Which smells much worse.
Umm a man-made kitchen is not a native habitat, and how is creating a fake kitchen cheaper than creating a fake wooded or grassy areas?

Since there has been renewed interest in this thread (not sure for the better...) and people have been re-liking and re-quoting my submission of Indianapolis from a year ago, I feel the need to re-iterate this:
The exhibit complex, as I understand, was designed with input from orangutan behavioral experts and was built to provide excellent husbandry for the apes. I strongly dislike the design/aesthetic and the message that it sends, and additionally think it looks like a vanity project on which far too much money was invested - and honestly I think the fact that it looks like a church is entertaining - but upon reflection I think its relevance to this thread is tenuous at best.
Others may disagree, but since I'm the one who brought it up initially I thought I'd plug in my two cents worth of 2020 hindsight

Having seen it in person, it's obviously not a very good indoors, but I don't see how this is a stupid exhibit idea. The only stupid thing about it is you have to be within a very specific height range in order to view this without having to be held up or bending over.

It has a stupid fence, a glass or regular low fence would be much better (the latter optionally with mesh on top to avoid touching the tortoises). And canot the animals get out if they try really hard?
Stupid? I think that's pretty cool (though it does look a bit small).
