Tbh it would make more sense for the media to be incorrect (as can be the case at times). It would be very surprising if the zoo themselves had reported on the cubs names wrong.I have issues with Frankfurt's zoo website (cannot click the pop up window away), so I read it in press reports. You are right that the zoo writes Rasmi as female and Mandala as male. The press writes it the other way around (e.g. Namen für Tiger-Babys im Zoo - ab jetzt sind sie im Gehege zu sehen or Hessen: Zoo Frankfurt: Tiger-Babys Rasmi und Mandala zeigen sich den Besuchern). It makes more sense the way media writes it since Rasmi can be used for males and females but Mandala is a female name.
Are Rimba en Raja still living in Frankfurt too?
If that is indeed the case, then that would mean Sigli at Lisbon has passed away as I believe Satu at Zoo Brno is still alive currently. It's very hard to contact Lisbon to confirm this.In the Big Cat Sanctuary female Puna (born in 2004 Heidelberg) passed away. She was the second oldest Sumatran tiger in Europe.

I don't know the definite answer in regards to breeding recommendations, however, her father, the late Batu sired ten cubs (Nine successful) in total with three different females (Including Ratna). The most likely answer is probably her genetic line being overrepresented.Does anyone know if Kelabu (currently at Shepreth, previously Chessington, along with her late mother Ratna) was ever recommended for breeding? At 17 she is probably too old now, but having lived with her mother her whole life, was she not needed for the breeding programme? Are her genes over represented?
About four weeks ago, two Sumatran tigers were born at Sóstó Zoo. They are two males. Parents are Gio and Sabah.

It would appear so. In the comments on this post, the zoo mentions that the second cub died in February. From recent videos on the zoos social media - it appears that only one of the cubs has survived.
Prague Zoo; 1,0 ‘Achilles’ arrived from Howletts Wild Animal Park, UK, a new male is due to arrive shortly at Howletts.
The only Sumatra tiger left at Prague is female Suria. Is Falco still alive in Prague?
