Superbowl Prediction

Can care less... GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!!! and now since hockeys back on GO PENGUINS!!!!!!!!!! I will say one thing that Ray Lewis is one hell of a player
 
Why is it called football if you rarely ever kick the ball? And why do you have to wear a helmet and so much padding like a China doll? I think you Yanks need to watch a man's sport: rugby! :)

1) Soccer is known throughout the world as football. To avoid confusion, there was American football and football. But those in charge wanted a stronger differentiation. Rather than changing American football's name, they changed football to soccer.

2)
A) The people who are in charge of football are more safety conscious than the other sports. Especially when the athletes are getting paid millions of dollars.

B) Helmets are worn to prevent concussions and worse.

C) One of the main reasons why there's so much padding is because professional football takes place on hard AstroTurf. There are a few stadiums that have natural grass, but most have AstroTurf.
 
My Superbowl prediction is that I will go for a walk or go see a movie while the game is on.

Not a bad alternative. Just make sure that you get home before the game ends. Otherwise, you'll have to deal with all the partiers coming home from the sports bars.

Over paid bunch of wimps the lot of them,we have tackles just as hard with out padding and helmets,in a sport called Rugby Union over here!!!

Overpaid yes, wimps 100% not. If you ask any rugby player, they would say that it's more wrestling and bear hugging rather than actual hard hitting tackles.

Rubbish I have played both sports and I now which one I suffered the worse injurys from and it wasn't the one with padding!!!

I had no problem with the rugby players getting all the girls and having the best booth in the student bar when I was at uni. I don't get why American footballers receive similar privileges when they play a sport wrapped in bubble wrap. Does any non-American actually understand the rules of gridiron? I don't ....

ahahahahhaahhaha, have you ever even met a rugby player? Do you even know what rugby is?!

"Yeah our sport is all wrestling and bear hugs. Its like if the Teletubbies invented a ball game". Exactly what a rugby player would say :rolleyes:
 
I won't comment on whether football or rugby is more violent, but I will say that there has been a rash of football players committing suicide because of all the brain injuries sustained during their playing career.
