The Biden administration is taking a huge step toward stopping migratory birds from being killed – help make sure they succeed by adding your voice today!

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is considering strengthening the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA), one of our nation’s biggest tools to protect more than 1,000 bird species from threats to their homes and lives.

We need to seize this moment to shore up legal protections for migratory birds. Under the Trump administration, the MBTA was almost gutted in a move that would have let industries get away with killing massive numbers of birds in the course of their activities.

Now, the FWS is considering a permitting program that will force industries to take steps to limit the number of birds their activities kill (known as “incidental take”). In the past, BP paid $100 million in fines to account for killing countless birds during the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in violation of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.

Act Now: Help stop a crisis of migratory bird deaths!

Good for them, it is good to see the government doing work to help out the native wildlife.
