This species list represents Sydney Zoo’s collection as of 17th December 2022 and adds onto this species list [Sydney Zoo Species List 2021 [Sydney Zoo]] by @akasha to continually document what is still a relatively new facility in its early years. The full review will be posted in my thread over the coming weeks to flesh out the zoo further. A few points to consider - there definitely could have been more species of fish in the zoo’s aquarium especially in the saltwater tanks and with the rainbowfish. There is also a new freshwater community tank that has been established right near the exit with an eclectic mix of mainly exotic species. Also, the actual exhibit space the nyala had seemed to be flexible as they could enter the rhino yard but also had a middle ‘buffer zone’ where the rhino could not enter. The ostriches were seen but fenced off in the back-of-house area away from the other animals.
