A woman has apologized for criticizing Taman Rimbo Zoo for it's treatment and care of their animals, which was described as a "hoax" by the zoo's Instagram account.
Pemilik Akun Tiktok @jasmineandmomma Minta Maaf Soal Postingan Kebun Binatang Taman Rimba
The apology video (Which was insolently filmed and posted by the zoo), including the woman's TikTok video.
Salam lestari "
I can't say anything about the feeding issue of the animals since I don't know the full picture, while I also understand about the issue of the animals being "lethargic" (You must know that lions and tigers slept a lot), but the problem that the zoo and the media seems to for some reason ignored (And also labelled as a hoax) is the unfeasible and awful condition of the exhibits the animals live in.

Zoo Greenwashing by more or less corrupting forces in public places... at its finest (I am afraid)!A woman has apologized for criticizing Taman Rimbo Zoo for it's treatment and care of their animals, which was described as a "hoax" by the zoo's Instagram account.

Lack of transparancy and exclusivism (Who or which easily get access to informations) in Indonesian zoos and aquarias is a longstanding issue, though sometimes for understandable reasons. When problems like this occured, it's easy to blame others without ever reforming your public relations. While this seems like a legitimate reasoning to explain Uni's apparent condition, the post starts and ends with a plea to not easily spread false information, which makes it apparent that the video was purely posted as part of damage control and disregards visitors' concerns regarding the animals under Taman Rimbo's care (aside from this video how are people supposed to know that the tiger is in old age?).
@Rizz Carlton, is there a National Zoo Accredition and Inspection licencising Law?Lack of transparancy and exclusivism (Who or which easily get access to informations) in Indonesian zoos and aquarias is a longstanding issue, though sometimes for understandable reasons. I'm not aware, but a lot of zoos and aquarias have strong relations to their respective local BKSDA (National natural resource protection agency) and the Indonesian Ministry of Forestry offices.@Rizz Carlton, is there a National Zoo Accredition and Inspection licencising Law?
I get what you are saying and .. Yes, I guess and know you are so right on this!I'm not aware, but a lot of zoos and aquarias have strong relations to their respective local BKSDA (National natural resource protection agency) and the Indonesian Ministry of Forestry offices.
What I meant is that Indonesian zoos and aquarias aren't particularly transparent on any updates or informations (Sick or new animals, death of major individual, cooperations, breedings, etc.) towards general (Indonesian) guests, instead prefering to advertise discounts, shows, and interactions. This makes any changes within the zoo to be unpredictable, as well as misunderstanding (Which happens a lot to me and other Indonesian users when reporting any informations).
A video has surfaced documenting a very old Sumatran Tiger named "Uni", reports say she does not eat much despite being offered food.
