Tamaraw numbers at an all-time high

This article is a couple of weeks old, but I've only just come across it:

For reference, this link shows the results of the annual population counts, with steadily increasing numbers for the last five years or so.

I can say from field travels ... that the good news has been heavily expectant for some time now as when I was on Mindoro steps were afoot locally with support from the IUCN to effect new conservation management and patrolling to promote a more rapid recovery of the tamaraw in situ and over several protected areas. Another issue was connectivity between various sites.
