I started this thread for the updates of the gibbon being exported/gibbons being imported. When is the silvery female leaving and when are the new species pair(s) arriving?

Also, ISIS lists Taronga as having 2:3:1 Francois' langurs......when did the new pair arrive and have they been put on exhibit?

Thanks

This has be discussed already. The silvery female left ages ago, the white cheeks will be on display soon and the new pair of languars arnt going on display

Really? I have been searching threads from 'ages ago' and there appears to be no updated information.

Could I ask why the langurs are not going on display?

No worries :) it's buried deep in the taronga news thread. They arnt going on display because there is only one exhibit and the males cant live together so instead of them having to rotate the second pair was moved to an off exhibit location

Oh ok. Tarongas really moving forward since my last visit

The white checks are out on display now. The exhibit has been redone for them and looks totally diffrent with a huge climbing/swinging structure in the center

Torie are you able to give information about the white cheeks, where they came from, ages etc.
Thanks

They came to us from Perth but I don't think they started life there. It's a male - kayak and a female - nelli. She is the older animal and I am pretty sure her keeper said she has breed before but didn't raise her own babies. As for ages I can remember but will get back to you!

KAYAK was born 1993 in Europe and arrived at Perth Zoo in 1999.
NELL was born in 1996 at Wellington Zoo (her father VILSON was born in 1987 at Melbourne Zoo to their breeding pair WILSON and KATE -both wild born, her mother was also Wellington Zoo-born)

this pair had a baby named LI-LIAN in May 2007.
