I had tried to find some information on the new tiger area a year ago and found nothing except ""Sumatran Tiger Adventure: An Indonesian-themed exhibit where visitors can get close to the mysterious Sumatran Tigers, and learn why choosing sustainable palm oil products can help preserve their native habitat.""

But I just had another look and found some plans for it here:

This may have been posted before and I missed or forgot it, but it has a description and a couple of designs including the "floor plan" between Tahr Mountain and the Sun Bear enclosure. Worth re-posting even if someone has done so before anyway.
 
This is awesome news! I wasn't aware that they had gone so long between births- I mean hatchings (sorry, I often forget that some mammals do in fact lay eggs). I had no idea the young were called puggles, that's so neat.
 
That means that Taronga will be left with 1.2 (male Jimiyu, females Niota and Zarafa). Niota probably won't be around much longer either (she was born in 1991 so is pretty much at then end of her life expectancy).
 
A new Facebook video shows that the cottontop tamarins have moved into the old spider monkey exhibit (most recently holding male Goodfellow's tree kangaroo Parum).

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute and lovable i coulda died seeing that little sweetheart :), just the way it tucked its head in around too <3 <3 <3 even seeing the mum for a sec just reminded me of how beautiful they really are at any time of their life (the way she the keeper said at the same time she's a first time mum made it all seem double cute.

Thanks heaps for sharing really made my day :)
