Unless a cure can we found for the facial tumour disease, there's not really much more than can be done except for the breeding that's being done in captivity in Tasmania as well as mainland Australia.
I really think the best thing to happen would be the species dying out in the wild, so ALL of the captive animals bar a few could be eventually released into the wilds of Tasmania.
