A quiz for all you budding biologists: off the top of your head, how many extant animal phyla can you name? I’ll recognise 35 and Wikipedia arbitrates: Phylum - Wikipedia. Your word is your bond.

**My attempt below**

1. Chordata
2. Hemichordata
3. Echinodermata
4. Arthropoda
5. Mollusca
6. Priapulida
7. Annelida
8. Nematoda
9. Bryozoa
10. Brachiopoda
11. Rotifera
12. Priapulida
13. Platyhelminthes
14. Porifera
15. Cnidaria
16. Onychophora
17. Cycliophora

(+2 which weren’t recognised: Cephalochordata and Pogonophora)

How did you do?

I got to 19 (+ Mesozoa which isn't recognised anymore).

1. Porifera
2. Placozoa
3. Cnidaria
4. Ctenophora
5. Platyhelmintes
6. Ectoprocta
7. Bryozoa
8. Nemertea
9. Annelida
10. Mollusca
11. Rotifera
12. Nematoda
13. Nematodomorpha
14. Onychophora
15. Tardigrada
16. Arthropoda
17. Echinodermata
18. Hemichordata
19. Chordata

And as expected I completely forgot a few I should have known such as Brachiopoda and Priapulida.

I'm not sure if one must name phyla in his head and check later if some one was forgotten to mention, or if instead one must look at the Wikipedia list and check how many fila are recognized and known by one self.
If it's the last option (too lazy for try the first option hehe) I recognize:
-Acanthocephala
-Annelida
-Arthropoda
-Brachiopoda
-Bryozoa
-Chaetognatha
-Chordata
-Cnidaria
-Ctenophora
-Echinodermata
-Hemichordata
-Mollusca
-Nematoda
-Nematomorpha
-Nemertea
-Onychophora
-Phoronida
-Platyhelminthes
-Porifera
-Priapulida
-Rotifera
-Sipuncula
-Tardigrada
(total: 23)

While the next phyla are either totally unknown for me or I vaguely remember the name, but I don't associate it with any image of a life form nor I could tell nothing about them from memory:
-Acoelomorpha
-Cycliophora
-Entoprocta
-Gastrotricha
-Gnathostomulida
-Kinorhyncha
-Loricifera
-Micrognathozoa
-Orthonectida
-Placozoa
-Rhombozoa
(total: 11)
