Absolutely! I remember a while back, the AZA Deer TAG was interested in working with this species alongside EAZA collections, but unfortunately that never came to fruition. This shines light on why I personally believe that every wild animal and plant species, subspecies, and ecotype/distinct population segment should have a captive insurance population when and where possible.
