OK, I can't stand it anymore. I have to rant a bit:
I can see why an individual might feel this zoo or that is best, from their point of view.
But it's a personal opinion for heaven's sake! The arguments here about whether this zoo or that is the best in North America, or the best built after 1962, or best East of the Maginot Line, or the best for Hissing cockroaches ...is absolutely freekin' nuts!
There cannot be a "best" zoo. Each has strong points and each has weak points. No zoo can build all GREAT exhibits or replace all the older ones within our lifetimes. Anyway, we have established that our priorities and tastes are different! So what is best to my eye is crap to yours. Personally, not only am I ok with that, but I enjoy hearing about what you love. I don't need to agree with you to appreciate your point of view.
So WHY all these threads with nasty often personal attack filled arguments about whether this is "best" or that is????????
So do we love zoos...or do we love to compete?
Reading many threads, it's not easy to tell.
OK, I feel a bit better now. Go on with your day.
