The Biak Lorikeet Project

Came by coincidence on Facebook on a site of a private initiative for a breeding-programm for the Biak lorikeet - AKA the Rosenberg's lorikeet - Trichoglossus rosenbergii. On the IUCN Red List the species is listed as being Vulnerable but seen the small range in which its found ( the island of Biak ) this can change fast.
In public collections the species is at the moment only found in the Loro Parque where it is kept ( and bred ? ) behind the scenes.
The population in private hands in Europe is a little bigger ( about 80 birds are known sofar ) and a number of keepers are working close together to keep the population healthy and growing.
It's realy a shame that not more public collections are involved in saving a captive population of this species - the closely related and not endangered Rainbow lorikeet in kept and bred in huge numbers in a great number of collections.
If just a few zoos or birdparks would start with displaying and breeding this species and provide some education-material about the species, a larger public could become aware of the plight of this species.
Does anyone know how the situation in America and/or Asia is, any public and/or pivate collections working with this species ?

Thanks @Great Argus ! If you can find out more about the status of the species in America that would be great !

Not too badly off it seems. Looks like at least Nashville Zoo and Indianapolis Zoo both have them, as well as potentially Prospect Park and SeaWorld San Antonio. Privately bred by at least two places, one in Arizona and one in Florida. Probably several more places, but contentious taxonomy complicates finding them.
I don't have numbers for any of those facilities.
