the ferret-badger was indeed a good one (probably better-looking alive than dead though).

There's a picture of less dead-looking one on www.cucphoungtourism.com . I'm going to be in Cuc Phuong in March and eyes will be very much peeled!
lucky you! A friend of mine is going to be at Cat Tien in April. The link you posted wouldn't work for me, but this one does Welcome to Cuc Phuong National Park -- but if the photo you are referring to is the frontal head-shot, that's the same dead specimen
