Colchester Zoo The countdown is on!

He's not at this time. His mother (Jolly died at Longleat in 2008) had ten calves during her lifetime! He's number ten and with his siblings throughout Europe he isn't required currently. However should be at a later date I'm sure Cotswold's will move him elsewhere.

Call me a rebel ... I do not care! ;)

This is exactly the timing where I do not agree with conventional/trad zoo philosophy. A species or population is not secure once you have a surplus in a given coop conservation breeding programme. Look beyond your box and lose that tunnel vision ...

I could think of a few places outside the EAZA region that would do a killer for an unrelated Baringo giraffe bull (and I dunno mean just ARAZPA-ZAA/SSP)!

I just think that they have been delayed over winter with all that nasty weather. The plans were to improve the drainage down that end and extend it to the planted mound (If you know what I mean) and thats it.
So its not as big as all that then? I think I know what your talking about but I've seen a huge bit of grass that could be used.
