The Elephant Life after death

Just wondered if anybody had watched this program on Wednesday night and what your thoughts where?

Saw it and loved it (is it wrong that the maggots made me feel hungry? xD), but blimey, hyaenas don't care what they shove their heads into do they?

I was struck by the beauty of the [four, I think] species of Starlings eating the maggots. To think we dare not feed maggots to captive birds for fear of botulism.......
And, from the sublime to the ridiculous...the Hyaena withdrawing its head quickly from the Elephant's fundamental orifice to avoid an expulsion of gas; or was it propelled out by the gas?

I thought the program whilst graphic showed a interesting natural process which happens daily. I have read on a few different website people complaining saying that the Elephant was killed just for the program and several other complaints stating that it was an unnecessary program and cruel. None of which I agree with.
Hyena certainly arent shy where they eat at all really wouldnt fancy doing the same no matter how hungry I was :P

I actually felt sorry for the unfortunate hyenas with all those hippoboscid flies hooked in around their anuses - nobody deserves that!

I understand the elephant was put to sleep by a vet after being injured by poachers, the fact that it was badly injured by the poachers I find cruel and unnecessary, not the fact that it was put down after being badly injured and later providing food for other animals, at least this elephant was anonymous, not one I had known for years.
