No, they're not. Not everywhere will get giant pandas next year, otherwise exhibit construction would've started and the fact that zoos have to pay $10,000,000 which a lot of zoos can't afford...

only joking

i was just about to say that, cat-man get your facts right before posting!

Dude, can't you take a joke!

That's not the point cat-man, you posted information on a board which is used frequently by zoo professionals and tried to pass it off as fact in your original post.

If you're posting information, then you need to check the facts first. Sites can often get into trouble if misleading info is on them.

Couldn't agree more.

Zoo beat / chat seems to have become infected with people spouting nonsense. It's a real shame. Having been a reader of the site for a year or more, I have noticed a real increase in the banal witterings of those who would rather say something than keep quiet, even when they have nothing to say. It's embarrassing, really. On other threads we've had people passing comment on collectiosn they've never visited, we've seen conjecture posted as fact, and - on this thread - we seem to have hit an absolute nadir. I feel myself getting very grumpy!

tottaly agree, dont get angry with me cat-man, this site is for mature zoo enthusiasts!

Just a note to some of you younger members please think about what you want to post before you do post it as we do try and stick to the facts as much as possible, this is very important on a public forum, we dont want to start deleting anyones postings so please do think first, Cheers Guys.

Actually, you'll find that Marwell will be going through it's biggest change ever through the next ten years. :)

The change is not so much in the species held, as i have staed here before there are not too many new species being brought into the park, they seem to have settled on the vast majority of the collection to carry them into then next 10-20 years, which is not too bad a thing with a collection of the quality of Marwell.
I feel with the opening of the African valley an opportunity was lost to bring in more antelope species to bolster what is already the best collection in the UK and second best in my opinion in Europe.

that has to be the worst spelling i have seen for a long time!

aviary becomes one for hammerkops ect,
large african birds on valley field
