The zoo has opened, what is claimed to be the largest aviary in Europe.
The aviary, 20m high and covers an area of a hectare, houses birds from the south American continent, including flamingo, ibis species, Patagonian conure and hyacinth macaw amongst others.

Sounds pretty impressive.

Actu zoo are reporting a few interesting new species for this enormous aviary this year and they include.
Peruvian brown pelican
West Peruvian dove (Zenaida MELODA)
Grey gull
Andean avocet (Recurvirostra andina)
Blue footed booby (Sula nebouxii)
and Darwin's rhea.

Blue- footed booby is an interesting species to see :)

This sounds like it may be larger than San Diego's enormous Scripps Aviary -- which is an amazing experience to walk through.

A female Andean condor has arrived from the Santiago zoo in Chile

Randomly found this photo, gives a whole new perspective on what is a truly magnificent exhibit.
