On April 19, 2016, Dr Laurie Marker of the Cheetah Conservation Fund will be at the park. Festivities will include enrichment at the cheetah exhibit as well as a lecture and book signing by Dr Marker. (I have heard her twice at my local zoo and she is an excellent speaker - plan to attend if you can).

Being a small cat fanatic, I do not know how I missed this announcement (which also rebuts a previous post of mine). Last summer they received two black footed cats.

Three coyote puppies are now visible in a window in the animal hospital.
The park has built a new walk-in butterfly exhibit. It will be closed during summers but open rest of the year. Approximate numbers are 300 butterflies of 30 species.

I imagine so, because they have only had a pronghorn exhibit for about three or four years.
According to the zoo FB page, the jaguar cub and mother are now on exhibit in the mornings. (I presume the father will be on exhibit in the afternoons). When the cub is more acclimated, he and mother will stay out all day.
Groundbreaking for "Crossroads of Conservation," the new admissions area (Fall 2018 opening) and exhibits for lion, hyena, and rhino (2020 opening).

This is great, but too bad the lion exhibit won't open until 2020.
The past master plan for the park included black rhinos. If you look in the gallery there is a map from 2000ish that has future projected developments shown and black rhinos are on there. I think what they announced is essentially what is on that map.

No. I've seen Pronghorn there in 2002, but just one handraised female.
I wonder where they kept her? I have never seen pronghorn prior to the exhibit that opened a couple years ago.
A male giraffe born April 28, 2017, is now on exhibit.
The new entrance opened November 3, 2018. Here is a video of the construction and finished project, which looks quite nice.
Wait, do you mean the small mammal cages that held sand cats and other small carnivores? If so, were the sand cats and black-footed cats on exhibit elsewhere?
