Are memes jokes? I personally don't think memes are jokes.
A joke is a thing that someone says to cause amusement or laughter, especially a story with a funny punchline. I think a meme qualifies.

While memes are often humorous or satirical - they are often more about social or even political commentary.
I have no problem with someone starting a memes thread.
Because we already have a jokes and puns thread and there is no point combining them as there is now threads for both jokes, puns and memes.
Memes are not jokes, they are different to jokes.
Are you a fellow 9 year old? (I really hope so, because if you're not then this would be a really strange thing to ask - its an inside joke to the people who don't understand the reference)

The purpose of the The Nonsense Thread was so that there would be one singular place for the off-topic nonsensical humor such as this that was otherwise split up into various, almost identical in purpose threads.
