It's the bushisms one. He had the page on mobile mode. Click on the desktop link and you'll see the vid.

Reminds me of Mike Meyers in Cat in the Hat

My favorite quote from that movie is when he says "you dirty hoe!" and then comes back to the hoe and says, "no, no, I didn't mean that, baby."

Wait, doesn't he lick the hoe after? :D

Yes I just watched that one! For some reason the recovering the dog vid doesn't work for me either. Some copyright law.

That-was-hi-larious!!:D I didn't know the US had a population over 300 people and that it wasn't a given that America and the United States would get along.

Yes bushisms are always funny. My all time favourite not surprisingly is "fool me once....". :D

Yes, Cat did lick the hoe I think. I liked when he was dancing with Paris Hilton in the club. Both preceding sentences are independent of each other. ;)

Are either of you planning to pursue a zoo-related career?

I hadn't been on for a while when you posted this one, nanoboy, so I guess I'll just reply to it now.

Well, my dream has always been to found a zoo, but how exactly would I get there? Where would I get the money to be able to keep a zoo up and running? These questions have been running through my head for the last year or so, and quite honestly, I don't know the answers! Lately, I have no idea what I'd like to do in life. I haven't taken any of my hobbies seriously, which I consider to be a bad thing. I don't know which one calls to me the most.

I've always loved music, but in the last year or two, I've gotten more into it. I've been told by my father that I have a great ear, I mean, not to brag, but I could hum (or whatever the verb is for making guitar sounds with your mouth) the entire "Highway Star" guitar solo at any time, or hum one of Michael Jackson's funky '70s basslines. However, I have never had the passion to pick up and instrument, although the one time I tried playing the bass I thought it was very fun. And, as we all know, to quote the famous jbnbsn99: "Music is a cruel, heartless b*tch."

With sports, I feel that they're just hobbies. When ever I imagine myself playing a sport as a career, it's only for a moment, and then I feel like it would be better for me to do something else.

Then of course there's my animal-involved dream. It doesn't have to be a zoo-related, although that is at the top of my dream careers list. I could be a wildlife photographer or a documentary camera man (photography and videography are two of the main reasons I'm attending the high school I am). I could even just work at a zoo.

So, as you can see, I have absolutely no idea what direction I want to take. I guess I would just have to toy around with all of them for a little longer. But, like zooplantman, my career could be entirely serendipitous. I may find something along the way that I love more than these. In the end, like ThylacineAlive said, I just want to make my mark. I would love my name to be remembered. But recently, this fortune cookie, of all things, has really got me thinking. Its fortune reads, "The value of a man resides in what he gives, not in what he is capable of receiving."

My thoughts about careers are all mixed up (just like this post :D), so for now, I'm just taking things a day at a time.

AnaheimZoo, what grade are you in? Being in high school I think it'd be very beneficial for you to decide quickly what you want to do. I'm not saying you have to plan what you want your whole live to lead up to, I'm just saying make a plan. I wouldn't suggest making a career as a simple zoo keeper. It doesn't pay much and funding a zoo visiting life cannot be acomplished this way. I had to make a decision earlier this year whether I'd rather be a zoo keeper and probably end up living in an appartment and working two jobs or if I wanted a better paying animal-related career and end up having a better chance of traveling the world and seeing all kinds of wildlife. I chose the later and my plan for now is to spend my first two years of college in a community college and then spend the next two studying zoology and felines. After I plan on getting any zoo-related job I can so I can build up money and go back to school for two more years in order to get a better degree so I'll look more appetising to possible furture employers.

After the previous discussion on this thread about pies I think it is time we move on to a different food family.......bread. In my circle of family and friends we have:
the regular slice bread (homeade and sliced storebought)
cranbery bread
zuchinni bread
banana bread
amish friendship bread
flatbread
trenary toast

Great stuff guys. Just keep studying hard, doing well in school and keep your eyes and ears open for how the job market/economy is shaping up.

Until a year ago, I wanted to start my own zoo, but I have now realised that the average zoo-goer is a tool and should not be let near animals. A private menagerie is probably better. :D

I'm just wondering if what jobs you can get with a degree in zoology?

my general plan is to Aberdeen uni, and study zoology. If I pass I think that I may do animal based job for a few days a week(to get reasonable money), then part time at a zoo(my dream).

My main question however is what jobs can you get from studying zoology?

Most jobs zoo related I think. It depends on what field of zoology you study. I plan on studying felines (it was tough to go away from rhinos and elephants) and perhaps you will study marsupials. I'd suggest studying the subject for at least four years (which would make a total of six years of college) but maybe not all at once. Do your first four and then get a job at a zoo or something and raise money until you think you can afford to go back to finish the six years (this might take years, though). After that, you have a much better chance of being hired by a zoo and getting paid more in that specialised field. Or you can go down the road of field research and study whatever animals you studied in school in their natural environment and work to conserve them. If you're one who wants to travel around the world then this may be best suited for you.

Eh, there are going to be tools everywhere and anywhere you go, so... :D

What's you plans on said menagerie? You know you cannot tempt them into your van with candy, right?:D

Seriously, what are your plans?

As some other Zoochatter pointed out, child molestation jokes are in poor taste and unfunny... unless they were just my jokes that were in poor taste and unfunny. :D

Funnily enough (no pun intended) I have a "working with children card", which, here in Australia, means that the Police have checked me out and I am a-ok to work with minors. :) I am sure that priests also have the same card though.....

My menagerie looks like it is a pipe dream at the moment because I live in suburbia right now, and I do not have the funds to buy a property in the country to build a menagerie. I want to at least start off with some macaws/cockatoos now, but my wife says otherwise. :D Until I win the lottery, the menagerie is but a daydream that is probably more appropriate for the Fantasy Zoos forum.
