The Nonsense Thread

I find it odd that UPS expects you to be home during the day to receive your package when the vast majority of people work during that time frame.

And then the depot is only open during business hours on weekdays so you have to get someone (possibly an unemployed friend) to collect for you.

The good thing about using Australia Post to deliver parcels, is that the parcel is lodged at your nearest post office indefinitely for you to collect at your convenience. In many cases, the post offices are open for business until 5:30pm or 6pm on weekdays, and until noon on Saturdays.

Other couriers lodge undelivered packages at the nearest newsagent that they have an agreement with. These newsagents (Seven Elevens in America?) are usually open on weekends.

I have had a few deliveries from UPS, DHL and Fedex and I believe that I had to request a redelivery and give them permission to leave the package on my door step. Other people I know just get packages delivered to their place of work.

I'd never want pretty food, beyond it looking appetizing enough to eat. On some occasions something has been so pretty I have ended up not eating it and just admiring it (hot paper lantern peppers, green zebra tomatoes, a very nice bunch of purple kale).

One time I was at disney world and I saw colored hot chocolate packets for sale. They came in packets of three colors, princess purple, something or other pink, and I can't even remember what they called the blue. At least I think it was blue. I know it was meant to look attractive to young girls (I was in my teens), say someone who was under the age of ten, but looking at them made me nauseous. I mean, hot chocolate isn't supposed to be that color is it? And I'm probably not the only one who feels this way, studies have shown that we expect food to be a certain color and can have physical reactions when we realize it isn't.

man, I would be all over this if it wasn't only 40%! What's with the 10% for poor people?? But I am her good friend, so .... I am torn.

Scams like this are great because dishonest people are the victims. It is clear from the email that the person is asking the reader to do something illegal and immoral (i.e. pretend to be the next of kin). Anyone who goes down the impersonation route deserves to be scammed and really shouldn't be counted in the statistics of those who are genuine victims of online scams. I wouldn't mind getting the 10% though for being poor. :)

Just watched this (I just recently discovered MST3K and I love it). Now I feel really bad. But zoos in First World Western countries don't do anything like this really anymore, right? Also, this was staged wasn't it? And the man's dead right? Mauled by an angry bear mother I hope?
