The only collection in the UK that you can see a.....

Where has this been "definitely confirmed"? Just being on a species list plan isn't a confirmation.

Reporting personal opinion as absolute fact. Has been mentioned before. By me.

Speculation, be it informed or rumour is not fact and it does not matter that it may be the result of misplaced over enthusiasm.

I must admit, it is a pet peeve of mine which some here seem to enjoy, but I find endless pages of increasingly bizarre suggestions incredibly irritating.

I have suggested things in threads, but I like to make it clear they are IMO.

The species list is enough confirmation not to mention it being on the future Bristol zoo website, I don’t know what else I can say the zoo have made an active choice to say they are getting the species that is enough isn’t it? Just because they haven’t made it one of the main species advertised in the press doesn’t mean it won’t be there

I think the thing to bear in mind is that what has been confirmed is that they plan to have them - zoo masterplans or proposed species lists have not proved in the past to be all that reliable as predictors is all. :)

Oh thank you haven’t really looked at other master plans but thank you for explaining

Equally, something on a long-term plan or wishlist doesn't mean it will happen; for instance before he was forced out from his post at the two Berlin collections, the late Bernhard Blaszkiewitz intended to add a North America zone to the Mountain complex at Tierpark Berlin, to accompany the Europe and Asia zones. These plans were scrapped when Andreas Kneireim took the helm, and replaced by a wholesale redevelopment of the Mountain complex to focus solely on the Himalayas.
