THE QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY AND NEW YEAR'S HONOURS

At the weekend the Queen's birthday honour's list was announced, got me thinking about people from the zoo world who have been officially honoured, off the top of my head I can think of Sir Solly Zuchermann, London Zoo, (although this knighthood may have been given to him for his work for the government not for his time at the zoo), Gerald Durrell O.B.E. Jersey Zoo, Jim Cronin M.B.E. Monkey World Dorset, and Molly Badham M.B.E., Twycross Zoo, anyone think of any others?
 
Will name a person that should have an honour before she dies and that is Natalie Evans,co-founder of Twycross Zoo,while she was never the public face of the zoo un-like Molly,she was very much the person responsible for keeping the zoo on a firm financial footing,how the zoo could do with her now to control the money being spent within the zoo!!
 
George Mottershead, founder of Chester Zoo, was an OBE. If you want a zoo knight, I think Sir Peter Chalmers Mitchell was honoured for running London Zoo and founding Whipsnade.

John Knowles, Marwell Zoological Park was also an O.B.E., apart from zoo directors I wonder if any keepers have been officially honoured?
 
How could we all have forgotten Sir Peter Markham Scott CH,CBE,DSC and Bar,founder of the WWT!!

Yes indeed, been thinking about what you said about Miss Evans, something should definately be done about this,

Your not the only one thats been thinking about that,I need to speak to a few people that know Miss Evans better than I do,to see if something couldn't be done soon!!As soon as I know anything I will post it on here so that everyone knows whats going on!!

I hope I am not being impatient, but have you spoken to anyone yet regarding this matter?
