In exactly a week (the 15th) the nomination of the polls for the best photograph since April 1st, 2015 can begin thus sarting the 3rd "best picture" competition on zoochat. So start searching and in a week don't forget to nominate your favorite pic!

Maybe we should also try to look for pictures not made by these 2 superb photographers, otherwise it may be a bit of a boring competition :p

Please clarify a point for me. I would like to nominate a photo which was posted in our Gallery in October 2015, but it was actually taken in April 2014. I hope this acceptable, but I felt I ought to check first.

I'd consider it allowed:)

Thank you.

I should start by saying that my first inclination was to wonder which of ro6ca66's photos I would nominate and to think what a tough choice it would be. However since he has already had a couple of nominations and I am sure that more people will be looking at his work with a view to further nominations, I have taken lintworm's advice and cast my net a little wider.
The last time I met Javan Rhino at Chester I told him how much I had enjoyed his photos from his travels in Europe, in partnership with Agile Gibbon of course. He actually posted a large number of nice images at the same time, which meant that when I looked through them I realised that I had missed many of them first time round. I think many other ZooChatters may have done the same as my nomination has no comments and only 60 something views - but it is an excellent image of an unusual and little-known species, photographed in conditions which are obviously far from ideal. I think it is well exposed, well composed and quite beautiful, in spite of the shortcomings of the display.

Alright we only need 3 more. Excellent.:D However, at the rate we're going by the time we reach 10 it will most likely be Passover for me so I can't make the vote as early as hoped. So either someone else can make it or just wait a few extra days.

No we are able to start now.... We were able to for a while ago. I'm sorry folks it's been a busy few weeks:(

After planning on doing the poll today I did a recount and I realized that we are still down two pics...
So two more nominations everyone:D

Giving this thread a bump. Since I already nominated one, I do not want to do any more. Someone, anyone, please join in with a nomination!

I'll nominate this photo by Chlidonias. As well as the great subject and taken-in-the-wild bonus, I've found it becomes increasingly compelling the more I look at it. Plus, I think we're all pretty jealous of his adventures.

And thanks, of course, to ro6ca66 and Gentle Lemur for their many beautiful contributions to this site.
