the UK's private 'zoo'

they were being advertised in the classifieds by a breeder. There were no photos on the site. You may have to go back a bit. I have worked with this species and they are really special, I hope they are still thriving in this country and that this breeder isn't an exception.

Just been on their website, that's crazy!
£500 for a lion is pretty cheap lol.
I could take a guess at where they're coming from too...

granted i dont know much about them but i didnt know we had ligers or tigons in england where is it you think has them?

i know this is a bit old but...

the Liger. yes that was in a uk collection..

the silky anteaters.. no, they did not come in via TSKA/C.wildlife..

tree shrews... oddly i was speaking to one of our clients about this morning, he had a breeding group, which he has since lost, but is picking up a pair of the young he bred this week, to start working with again. He has a decent success rate with breeding things i've found, so there is a good chance he will have young again in the future

from working with rory on tska, i've had my eyes opened a lot to what there actually is kept within private uk collections

I saw TSKA website a few days ago and was amazed to see the exotic animals for sale. Waveney Wildlife advertised on its website, who runs by Trevor Lay and also NAPAK organised by Jim Collins, is that right?

we do see quite a range yes.. i guess you could say that! i have had the privilege of meeting some lovely animals, and great keepers for that matter.

mind you.. we also get a lot of "if i get one, i want to run my serval on the beach, why can't i" and "i want a monkey to sit on my shoulder and walk on a leash"..

education, not condemnation.. is harder to practice at times than it should be.

waveney & napak, yes both those are covered on the site. C.wildlife is also advertised in the same manner, in that they are given viewing space on the site, but are not part of TSKA

the vast majority of the people we deal with, are people with specialist interests and smaller collections, the old piedipers site used to have about 800 or so people on the database, ranging from keepers of harvest mice, to keepers of zebra, giraffe or cheetah. Of course some have more than others, and not all clients are private keepers, we do also speak to a number of what rory terms as "game parks" as well as a good number of people in "animal education"
