I'm also wondering if one or other of that pair(either separately or together) have any descendants in the current group. Because its pretty small nowadays(7 or 8 animals) I guess that reduces the likelhood of it but if that old bull was the original breeder, it could be.
There is an EEP white rhino studbook available on the internet somewhere I could look in...

It seems that they have a new female white rhino....

This new female is Tuli born in Erfurt in 2007. She was entering puberty and being a handful at Erfurt Zoo. So, in the interest of the EEP she was moved to Whipsnade for breeding. She is unrelated to any of the UK white rhino!
Rumours are another white rhino is due from Holland too. But have not yet gotten around that one .... No news, on the Dutch webbies!
