The week before May 5th, a North American Porcupine was born to mother Geri. It is a male and has been named Perci.
 
Since the page hasn't been updated since May 2020, and even then, goes once every year, this page hopefully will now be regularly updated. I will be doing 1 post from 2019 + all of 2020.

On December 23rd, 2019, the zoo announced that its female llama named Cocoa gave birth to a female llama-alpaca mix named Holly on December 17th.

On February 4th, 2020 the zoo announced that twin (brother-sister) pygmy goats named Tito and Sky were born at the zoo on January 24th.

On May 9th, the zoo posted on Facebook pictures of newly born babies, which had the soft announcement of a baby common degu.

On May 28th, the zoo announced that twin girl pygmy goats named Moet and Oregano were born at the zoo on May 18th.

On June 24th, the zoo announced that it has acquired 2 black timber wolf siblings named Keeba and Sakari from an unnamed zoo in Virginia.

On July 31st, the zoo announced that a female timber wolf named Aurora passed away due to chronic kidney disease.

On November 23rd, it was announced that an amendment that would give 125,000 dollars to the zoo as COVID-19 relief, passed through the Massachusetts State Senate.

On November 24th, it was announced a new species is at the zoo, a male woolly opossum named Milo.

On April 7th, the zoo announced the arrival of a 1-year-old [0.1] bobcat named River. She came from a facility in Illinois.

On May 3rd, representatives from the Springfield legislative delegation awarded the zoo $125,000 in pandemic assistant funds.

The Zoo in Forest Park recently received a female American Beaver "Piya" from Animal Wonders Montana to be a companion for their male American Beaver "Justin."
 
On September 21st, the zoo announced they acquired a (0.1) Bactrian camel named Farrah which is now on exhibit. She will be exhibited with the zoo's dromedary camel in the future.

On November 29th, the zoo announced that they acquired (0.0.2) striped skunks named Enrico and Rosalind from an unspecified wildlife rehabilitation facility which are now on display in the striped skunk exhibit.
