The Zoochat Photographic Guide to Small Carnivores

I am offended you've neglected to use any of my photos of some of these species and instead continue to overrepresent GiantEland. I suppose I shall just have to go and photograph some species no one else has seen yet

Or upload better ones of species currently only represented by poor ones :p like the Long-tailed Weasel you were telling me about!

Forgot another introduced population again! :p These are also in Florida.

Didn't even know about that population :p so I didn't forget!

Great resource again TLD, thank you! Any plans do move on to Canidae at all? I have a soft spot for all animals Vulpine :)

Not too bad a showing, and no different to what I expected, with a total of four Euplerid species photographed and six others remaining to be photographed and/or uploaded to the Zoochat gallery. I rather suspect that most of the remaining species will have to be photographed in the wild for there to be much chance of the former total increasing..... but here goes:

Eastern Falanouc (Eupleres goudotii)
Western Falanouc (Eupleres major)
Broad-striped Vontsira (Galidictis fasciata)
Grandidier's Vontsira (Galidictis grandidieri)
Brown-tailed Vontsira (Salanoia concolor)

Not too bad a showing really - of the 35 mongoose species discussed, there are a total of 17 represented within the gallery. Given how little-known and/or restricted in range many of the remaining species are, it is perhaps not surprising that only 50% of mongoose diversity is represented on Zoochat.

However, I reckon there is a good chance that a handful more species could potentially be uploaded, whether due to new sightings in the wild or in collections within their native ranges, or due to Zoochatters clearing out their old photographs. I would be particularly interested to learn whether any of our members in the New World saw and photographed the Liberian Mongoose which was displayed for a time at Toronto Zoo!

Or upload better ones of species currently only represented by poor ones :p like the Long-tailed Weasel you were telling me about!

Oh that'd be just too easy, though! I will have to do so, only reason I haven't is that it isn't on this computer yet.

Only teasing on the being offended part, don't think you need to give me a pity inclusion! :D
