Northern Short-tailed Shrew (Blarina brevicaudus)

The range of this species extends throughout much of central and eastern North America, from central Saskatchewan in the north to northeast Oklahoma in the south, and east to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia in the north and northeast South Carolina in the south.

Etruscan Shrew (Suncus etruscus)

The range of this species extends patchily and in a highly-fragmented distribution of disjunct populations throughout southern Europe, northern Africa, the Middle East and Caucasus, and into Central Asia, the Indian Subcontinent and Indochina; a particularly isolated population is present on Madagascar. Although currently classified within Suncus, preliminary genetic research suggests that S. etruscus is basal to a clade formed by Asian Suncus and all Crocidura, and hence it will require a new genus for monophyly to be maintained.

Asian House Shrew (Suncus murinus)

The range of this species extends throughout the Indian Subcontinent and Sri Lanka into southern China and Taiwan, and south into Indochina and the Malay Peninsula; introduced populations extend throughout Japan, the Greater and Lesser Sundas, New Guinea, Philippines, islands throughout the Indian Ocean, the Arabian Peninsula and eastern Africa.

Currently recognised as monotypic.
