Black Bittern (Ixobrychus flavicollis)

Larger than many of the other bitterns in its genus this species ranges from Pakistan to Australia. It can easily be distinguished by its larger size, black coloration with tan on its neck. It is listed as Least Concern by the IUCN.

I wonder why this guide hasn’t been worked on in a long time.
I had planned on keeping at it, but since it started I began grad school, helped take care of a family member who was going through cancer (and didn't survive), a grandparent died and had to help take care of the estate, had to keep up with a full-time job, classes, and write a thesis. Add in a vehicular accident last year from being rear-ended (I'm ok) and dealing with insurance :mad: was the cherry on top. Now that I'm finishing up my degree this May I plan on finishing it. It's been a rough 2 years.
 
That’s very unfortunate! I’m quite sorry about that. I have several photos of herons that you could use when you can get back to it, just so you know.
