I don't usually do this, but there is a bad situation in Indonesia that you can help with. I am copying, below, an email message from Nature Alert's Sean Whyte, who has been trying to convince the Borneo Orangutan Society (BOS) to rescue two orangutans in Kalimantan.
His message follows.

Sean asks you to send your emails to Aldrianto Priadjati, exec director of BOS, at aldrianto2005@yahoo.com, with a cc to tpuspita@gmail.com
If you get a response (I haven't), please post it on this site.

Dear Concerned friend of the orangutans.
I am writing to offer you the chance to give two orangutans the best possible Christmas present: their removal from the living hell they have experienced for the past two years.
One of the orangutans, a female named Lupis, is shown below with very heavy chains around her neck. [I wasn't able to copy the photo - Dawn] Another one close by, named Lupus, is also featured, along with more details, on my Blog Nature Alert
The Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOS) has ignored them up to now. Why? They won't say. We know it's not a question of money and we also know they have space at their main rescue centre. Could it be down to lack of concern or, perhaps a lack of motivation?
In an email to a supporter on 1st December the Executive Director of BOS said this; "Nor would we ever knowingly leave orangutans in distress that are in need of our help." I have to say this has not been my experience this year and just some of the evidence can been seen on the Blog. I simply don't know why an organisation like BOS whose sole reason for existing is to help alleviate the suffering of wild-caught orangutans, is so reluctant to help these and other orangutans.
What can you do to make a difference? Please will you visit the Blog and write a short message to the people I have highlighted? It really does matter that you do write - you can and you will make a difference.
Thank you again on behalf of all orangutans and especially Lupis and Lupus.

p.s. I have been to see, feed and do what's possible at the time to help Lupis and Lupis, twice in the past 12 months, at my own expense. BOS has not been to see them once………. even though they are about 6000 miles closer to them than I am.
