Things people do that irritate you when you go to the zoo?

When I was children, I develop a sense of zoo but I wouldn't know much about the animals.I am just watching the animals and doesn't watch the sign and don't know anything about them.As I grew up as a teen now, I really start to learn about animals in the zoo.There is field trip said to "learn" about nature, but seriously, children who not bang the glass and really listen and learn are just a small portion.Most children just shout and ruin the feeling!
I am not saying that children should not be in the zoo,but I really think the people who is really respecting the animals and learn in zoo should be someone older.When people think zoo is for children,they really don't think about that children just go there for fun(and some adults too, especially if they are free zoo).What is the purpose of zoo,especially free zoos? It is not just for fun, but rather for nature,conservation,learn. Rather than not having children in zoo, we should teach them good manners in zoo,such as don't shout loud at animals.Even adults, who think they know everything,doesn't know everything. Zoo is a place for education, and seeing real animals is way better than seeing them in a book.But please, animals have lives.Don't treat them badly.Don't disturb them.Don't hurt them.And please, watch the sign.No one will knew everything about animals and zoos.That's why we have signs,for us to learn.

It baffles me that someone with a self-admitted esoteric interest would so thoughtlessly denigrate the interests of others. Everyone who enjoys soccer or celebrity culture is an ********? What a foolish thing to write.
 
People look down on me a lot for wanting to work with animals but to be honest, through my experience it can be one of the hardest, complicated and sometimes dangerous job.
 
When people are making average or above average noise in explicitly 'quiet zones'

But by far the pettiest thing that annoys me is when people look at Scottish wildcats (or any small felid for that matter), say something along the lines of 'Oh that's just like X's cat' to their friend and then walk immediately on. (I mean, it probably does. But still.)
 
I have sensitive hearing which is why I hate screaming and some other loud noises especially in indoor areas.I was at Chester's bat house last year and there was a group of primary school children holding onto a object with rings so they wouldn't get lost,one bat flew over their heads and it was a chain reaction scream with the next ones being louder.It was rather annoying to say the least.
 
I went to the Monterey bay aquarium a few days back and I saw many things that ticked me off.

At the giant octopus tank, a family was using there flash to take a picture when a sign specifically said not to.

Then a little later, I went to the aviary with all of the shorebirds and I saw a kid trying to touch one of the birds (snowy plover)

I also saw another kid splashing the water in the bat ray tank. I almost went up to that kid.

The one thing I hate when I go to zoos/aquariums is when you are trying to take a picture and people walk right in front of you to see the animal. It took me an hour and a half just to take another picture of the scalloped hammerhead shark that day.

Get a bigger camera ;) No seriously I tend to have people stop to wait for me, I have to wave them past (otheriwse they'd be waiting a loooong time).

That said aquariums tend to be on the small side for space inside so can get rather crowded very quickly.

I try to avoid peek times when visiting. Work and such makes it harder to avoid weekends ;but if you can go off-season holiday wise or during the week the numbers drop dramatically.
 
People who ask you what they are looking at when they can't see a sign, or there isn't one, and when you tell them they argue about it.

An example about 20 years ago at Chester, a man and a woman came up to me and asked if I knew what the animals were, so I said "black and white ruffed lemurs". The man frowned and said, "no they aren't. They are panda bears."

How can you confuse a lemur with a panda,people are weird sometimes.
