Things That Irritate You in Life

Having several pets (chickens in my case) with health issues that require treatment and cause worry, and have an outcome that isn't yet certain.

Having the feeling you are hanging on by the skin of my teeth.

Still not being out of a downturn in mental health.

Being woken up at like 5 AM by loud vehicles (usually garbage trucks and snow plows) and not being able to fall back asleep.
Clear ice on the sidewalk. That stuff is evil with how subtle and slippery it is. I can never get anywhere fast on foot in the winter because of it.
Ride share apps changing my driver to someone further away even though I paid for priority pickup.
The fact that it’s taken me this long to post in this thread :p.

Getting sick at work.

People who talk loudly or even shout/yell on the train. People who block walkways and accesses on trains with large objects like suitcases, folding bicycles or kick scooters or large (double) strollers.

Another irritating thing. Seeing people defend certain people that quite frankly, don't deserve to be defended. Especially when these people getting defended have caused harm or sorrow in my own life.

“Understood the assignment” - the most overused phrase of 2021 (IMO).

Last year we had “Triggered” - aren’t we all glad that’s died a death?

Bumping my post from two years ago:

“Triggered” indeed died a death and “understood the assignment” followed. We’ve for the most part laid “social distancing”, “the new normal” and various Covid related phrases to rest.

What would we like to see the back of next? For me, it’s “alleged” and “allegedly” used in the context of crime reporting in the media. We all know the explanation for why they’re used, but that doesn’t make the words any less grating. Sadly, I doubt they’re going anywhere anytime soon.

This is something I was guilty of in the past but when paleo artists give prehistoric animals the exact same color or pattern as a living animal, down to the point you can tell what species it was based off of. This seems most egregious with feathered non-avian dinosaurs having their patterns modeled after living birds.

Here’s lookin’ at you, cassowary Citipati.

Another thing that really irritates me... certain times when people tell me what I am saying is off-topic or illogical. Most (if not all) of the time, it really isn't. These people just don't understand the logic that I am trying to convey or the dots that I am trying to connect if you will.

Feeling mentally exhausted and lacking the mental energy to truly get anything done, or to tolerate stuff that worries or irritates.

The continuing lack of decent zoo or walking weather.

Being a Pokémon fan is exhausting sometimes. There's the infighting between fans over trivial stuff like which generation is the best (if you say anything other than Gen 4 or 5, you're gonna get roasted), wave after wave of unfunny memes (I'm SO glad we're out of the Sinnoh revival era, I was getting sick of Bidoof), and the insults, sweet Arceus above, the insults... I am not a "bootlicker" because I bought Scarlet and am mildly excited for the DLC! I know the game has issues (broken raids and laggy overworld are HUGE issues), but I'm not a mindless consumer! I just think the scrunkly paint lemur and skull-faced opera crocodile are neat, OK?!
As Fawful's Minion said in his Sword & Shield "Blessed or Messed?" video, "it's like discussing politics on Twitter!" I've actually wondered if being a hater would be easier, but that's not who I am. Pokémon is what helped me make many of the friends I have today, I can't just throw it all away because some YouTuber with an opinion said he didn't like the newest game.

Just stop interacting with the toxic part of the fandom. It's generally died down from the Sword and Shield days anyway.
