Thinking about Spain

Hi,

i'm strongly interested in doing a Spain Zoo Tour in 2025.

I am planing to visit Madrid (Zoo + Faunia), Valencia (Oceanografic + Bioparc) and Barcelona (Zoo + Aquarium + Cosmocaixa Museum).

For both Zoos at Madrid and Valencia zoos and for the Zoo at Barcelona i plan a whole day. Anything wrong with that?

As i intend to do the trip with public transport i would like to know if there are collections which could be done within a day-trip from the cities mentioned earlier in this post. Benidorm seem to be one of this. Has anybody here experiences with visiting the Terra Natura as a day trip from Valencia and can recommend it?

I will also have to visit at least two zoos at a weekend. Which zoos would be the best of the named ones to visit on the weekends?
 
Knowing Spanish public transport I doubt you could do Benidorm and Valencia on the same day, I'll go as far as to say that maybe even both Valencia zoos would be on a very tight schedule for a single day (although I've never been to the Oceanografic).
Both Madrid zoos would be ok and you can easily see Barcelona in a day, although in my opinion, all the parks you plan to visit can be full-day zoos.
 
Barcelona Zoo can be seen in two hours (Reptile House is closed, many empty enclosures,...). Some years ago I would not recommend to visit it on weekends, but now you'll not find it too crowded on weekends. On the otehr hand, the Aquarium and CosmoCaixa can be quite crowded on weekends.

They're not suggesting doing the Valencia collections and the Benidorm collection in a single day :p just Benidorm as a daytrip whilst staying in Valencia.

I not only managed both in a single day easily, but also had sufficient time to walk between the two collections via the Jardín del Turia in order to get a feel for the city itself :)

The Valencia pair for certain - Oceanografic is open two hours longer on Saturday evenings, which will make doing that pair even easier :) and depending on the time of year you visit, by closing time basically every single body of freshwater within the grounds will be full of wild Perez's Green Frog and the skies will be filled with a variety of wild bats - including Schreiber's Bent-winged Bat, which I observed in particularly high numbers during my visit to the city.

I didn't find it all that bad to be honest - it definitely helps that large portions of Oceanografic are open-air exhibits connected to various indoor houses, so there is a lot of space for crowds to disperse throughout.
